Indonesia e-VOA & eVisa: Bali entry guide for 2026
Last reviewed 12 July 2026 · Source: molina.imigrasi.go.idFor most tourists heading to Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia, the simplest route is the electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) — an online version of the old airport VOA sticker. Buy it before you fly, breeze through the automated gate, and stay 30 days, extendable once. Longer or different visits use the separate B211A visit eVisa. This guide covers both, plus the official portal.

e-VOA vs. eVisa
- e-VOA — for eligible nationalities (most of Europe, the US, UK, Australia, Gulf states and many more), for tourism, business meetings, or transit. 30 days, extendable once by 30 days.
- B211A visit eVisa — a single-entry visit visa for up to 60 days, extendable, used when the e-VOA doesn’t fit or your nationality isn’t e-VOA-eligible.
Everyone should also expect to complete an electronic customs declaration on arrival, and a health/arrival form if one is in force.

Requirements
- A passport valid for at least six months from entry.
- A return or onward ticket.
- A payment card and an email address.
- For the eVisa: a passport scan and digital photo.
How to apply for the e-VOA
- Register on the official portal at molina.imigrasi.go.id.
- Enter your passport details and travel dates, and upload your passport page.
- Pay the IDR 500,000 fee by card.
- Receive the e-VOA by email as a PDF; print it or save it.
- On arrival in Bali or Jakarta, scan the e-VOA at the automated gate or present it at the counter.
Extending your stay
The 30-day e-VOA can be extended once for another 30 days. A key advantage of the electronic VOA is that the extension can often be requested online through the same portal, sparing you an in-person visit to an immigration office in Bali — though biometrics may still be required in some cases.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the Bali e-VOA?
IDR 500,000, about US$35, for a 30-day stay. Confirm the current amount on the official portal.
Can I extend it?
Yes, once, for another 30 days — often online with the e-VOA.
Do I need the e-VOA or the eVisa?
For a standard 30-day beach holiday, the e-VOA is usually enough. For longer visits use the B211A visit eVisa.
Is there a tourist levy in Bali?
Bali charges a separate provincial tourist levy in addition to your visa. Pay it via the official Bali levy system, not a reseller.
Can I work remotely on it?
The e-VOA is for tourism and short business visits, not local employment. Check current rules if you plan extended remote work.
