Vietnam issues an electronic visa (eVisa) that lets most travelers apply online and skip the embassy entirely. As of 2026 it is open to citizens of all countries and territories, is valid for up to 90 days, and comes in single- or multiple-entry versions. This guide covers the official fee, requirements, processing time, and where to apply.

Vietnam eVisa fees

The Vietnamese Immigration Department sets a fixed government fee, paid online through the portal’s payment gateway:

Official Vietnam eVisa fees, 2026
Visa typeGovernment feeValidity
Single entryUS$25Up to 90 days
Multiple entryUS$50Up to 90 days

The fee is non-refundable, even if the application is rejected. Because a true eVisa is a complete visa document, there is no separate stamping fee on arrival — unlike the older visa on arrival route.

Requirements

How to apply

  1. Go to the official portal at evisa.gov.vn and select English.
  2. Upload your passport page and portrait photo, then enter your details exactly as printed in your passport.
  3. Choose single or multiple entry and your intended dates, then save the registration code you’re given.
  4. Pay the US$25 or US$50 fee online.
  5. After about three working days, return to the portal’s search page and enter your registration code, email, and date of birth to download your approved eVisa.
  6. Print the eVisa and carry it with your passport.

Entry points & validity

eVisa holders must enter and exit through designated international border gates — a list Vietnam publishes and updates on the official portal, covering major airports, land crossings, and seaports. Your eVisa has a fixed validity window: you must enter on or after the start date and before the expiry date shown on the approval.
